Ghana ambassador commends national swim team after Zone II Championships

Abeku Jackson touched the wall in 26.27 seconds to set a national record in the 50m backstroke at the 2026 Africa Aquatics Zone II Championships in Dakar.
The swim formed part of a six-gold medal run that earned Jackson the Best Swimmer award at the three-day competition in Senegal. Jackson also clocked 24.17 seconds in the senior men’s 50m butterfly, taking the Best Performance award in that event.
His victories led a series of record-setting swims by Ghanaian competitors during the regional tournament.
Joselle Mensah set a senior national record in the 50m freestyle, stopping the clock at 26.36 seconds.
