Opoku Ware School misses NSMQ 2026 quarterfinals following late preparations

Opoku Ware School has been eliminated from the 2026 National Science and Maths Quiz at the One-Eighth Stage following a defeat to Bishop Herman College and Asanteman SHS.

The two-time champion school missed out on a place in the quarterfinals, ending a four-year run of deep competition appearances.

Opoku Ware School had reached at least the quarterfinal stage in every edition of the tournament between 2022 and 2025.

The school started the One-Eighth Stage contest with an early lead before losing momentum as the match progressed. Asanteman SHS and Bishop Herman College gained control in the later rounds, leaving Opoku Ware School behind.
