Comedian DKB calls John Mahama a professional comedian

In October 2015, Ghanaian comedian DKB walked across a room to request a photograph with former President John Dramani Mahama, convinced his public political activism was about to make the interaction uncomfortable. Five months earlier, in May 2015, DKB had marched through the streets as a primary organizer in a public demonstration against Mahama's administration. Now, the comedian found himself hired to perform a standup set at an official state gathering held for Mahama and the visiting Prime Minister of Ethiopia.

Nervous about how the head of state would react to a prominent critic, DKB approached the president after his performance. Mahama turned around, looked at him, and immediately delivered a joke referencing both DKB's stage name and a massive financial scandal dominating Ghanaian national news.
