How to calculate your WASSCE 2026 aggregate score for university admission

The West African Examinations Council has published provisional online results for the 2026 West African Senior School Certificate Examination. Tens of thousands of Ghanaian secondary school graduates are now calculating their aggregate scores to secure entry into tertiary institutions across the country.

Admission officers across Ghana evaluate candidates using a six-subject point system derived directly from the letter grades reported by the council. A lower aggregate numerical score indicates a stronger overall academic performance.

The numerical system assigns points from one to nine based on letter designations on the candidate statement of results. Grade A1 yields 1 point, B2 yields 2 points, and B3 yields 3 points.
