The Or Foundation to launch recycled textiles platform Foose Materials at London Design Week

Every week, approximately 15 million secondhand garments arrive at Kantamanto Market in Accra, Ghana. Most of these discarded clothes are exported directly from the UK, Europe, and North America. Now, Accra-based non-profit organisation The Or Foundation is bringing new products engineered from that accumulated waste to London.

The foundation announced it will launch its recycled textiles platform, Foose Materials, to the public for the first time during the London Design Festival. The platform will feature at Material Matters, an annual trade show and design event focused on the role of materials and sustainability across architecture, craft, and design.

Material Matters returns for its fifth London edition from 15 to 17 September 2026. The cross-media platform promotes material intelligence in architecture and design.
